The August meeting was billed as a summer backyard BBQ and “bring the best rose of your garden” display. Joan Gotlibson, Ed Bergen, Kay Buffum, and Babs Murdock were among those members who brought roses to display. Following the lunch and tour of Clarence’s hybrid tea garden, a brief and informal discussion was held regarding the September meeting. At VP Joan Gotlibson’s suggestion, it was agreed there will be a September meeting, which was rescheduled from September 11 to September 18, the third Sunday of the month. Sari Hou also raised the issue of the vacant seat on the advisory board created by Brenda Peterson’s departure. This will be discussed at September’s meeting. Other possible agenda items include a Q&A workshop with a panel of whom members can ask questions about growing roses in their gardens. Anyone with additional agenda suggestions should email them to Jerry Cinnamon at jcinnamon@unity.edu. Members also sang Happy Birthday to MRS treasurer Claire Homan, who celebrated her 90th birthday in July.
