Heirloom Roses (www.heirloomroses.com ),is having a sale with free shipping until July 31st. Most of my roses came from there. I've only planted roses in the Spring. Have any of you planted bushes mid-summer or Fall successfuly?

I live in Gardiner & I ordered some roses last July. They were much bigger than the ones I thought I had to order early to get into the ground to establish themselves, having had a couple of extra months to grow & came through the winter (zone 4 for me) beautifully. I wouldn't hesitate to order them now.

I have successfully planted roses in the summer and also in the late fall when the plants were dormant. However, the plants that I have gotten from Heirloom have always been very, very small. If they had been planted this time of year, I don't think they would have been established well enough to make it through the first winter.
