B J Kelley, February 23, 2005

I bought several rambling rose bushes about 10 years ago from a company in Maine but I am unable to find their address. I thought it was called The Rosaria but am not sure. Interested in rambling roses that would grow in WV and are disease resistant, fragrant and showy. Prefer pink or red. Can you help me? Thank you.

Kelly,

The Rosarie (at Bayfields at the time) has since closed its doors. There are new Ramblers on the market such as Rambling Red, that is cold hard and disease resistant. Another is Quadra that is red. In addition, Dorthory (Pink, Once Bloomer) – see Super Dorothry (pink) (see http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=6124) and Excelsa (red) (once bloomer) See http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=2683) And Super Excelsa (repeat bloomer) at http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=6125 Often the once blooming ramblers will produce longer canes than the repeat blooming climbers. Hope this helps.
