The Ramee's Rose Garden

MRSimage
This is our perennial garden which we started last year (2003). If you look closely you can see some of the blooming miniature roses we have planted around the edge and 'John Cabot' just started to spread on the split rail fence. Window box is various petunias.

Note: If you would like to have the thumbnail sketch of the photograph enlarged, click on it. Then when you want to go back to the garden, click on "Back".

MRSimageThis is a garden we planted only a few weeks ago on the south side of our house. Chuck made the arbor which we will add old dried grape vines to after the grapes are done this year. The large pink rose bush that almost look like hydrangeas is a rose called, 'Pink & Proud.' There are seven other rose bushes planted along here; each are different and all are, hopefully, winter hardy.
MRSimageThis is a close-up of "John Cabot."
MRSimage "Helen Hayes" which has been blooming for a few weeks. Called a 'sub-zero' rose by Brunell (not sure I have that name quite right). Beautiful yellow with touches of mauve and a lovely lemony fragrance.
MRSimage "Audrey Hepburn" has bloomed. Since she is a hybrid I may lose her if we have a winter like this last one but the rose is just gorgeous and smells wonderful. The bloom is even prettier today but it was so dark and dreary, my camera wouldn't take the picture.
MRSimage Miniature "Sugar Plum."
MRSimage Miniature "Orange Honey." The actual color is a much darker, more vivid orange than it appears in the photo.
MRSimage All are hardy English Roses. The two paler pink roses in the front are "Thornbury Castle." The two pink/copper shaded in back are, "Lady of the Mist," and the two deeper pink on either side are, "Brother Cadfael."
MRSimage Taken inside where the lighting (or lack of), made the colors look a bit different. I added some daisies from our perennial garden and also a small spray of a miniature rose called, "Fancy Pants" in the middle.
